Have you ever heard of wrap rage?

wrap rageAlmost every time I but some product wrapped in a tight plastic packaging I get really nervous trying to get it out…especially if I don’t have any cutting tool such as a pair of scissors or a knife. Anyway, today I found out that there is a name for this action and it’s called a “wrap rage” and it’s been discovered that the levels of anger and frustration are much higher under these conditions. It seems that every year, a lot of people injure themselves in the process of trying to open plastic packaging. Some of the most common injuries are cut fingers and sprained wrists.

The plastic packages are intentionally made difficult to open by the manufacturing companies in order to prevent shop lifting.  One of the methods of shoplifting involves removing small objects from their big packages and smuggling them out of the store concealed in the clothes. But this deterrent for thieves proves to be a huge headache for some of the customers which end up really frustrated after trying to open the package for several minutes at a time…exactly what happens to me :)
